      Statistics from the Dongguan Administration for Industry & Commerce show that in 2017, the number of newly added registered trademarks in the city reached 32,606, marking a growth rate of 20.97%, which ranked among the first in the province; the numbers of reputed trademarks and famous trademarks were 76 and 264 respectively, while the total number of registered trademarks and number of reputed and famous trademarks stood at the second among the prefecture-level cities in the whole province.

     Looking at the statistics, it is not difficult to find out that Dongguan has made significant progress in intellectual property right such as trademark. Although the achievements cannot be underestimated, we have to recognize that there is still a long way to go since Dongguan intends to build a number of famous brands and grow into a city of brands. When scientific and technological innovation is accelerated to enter the Dongguan economic mechanism, it is necessary to use the power of scientific and technological innovation to promote the product innovation and improvement of product quality so that more companies’ products can grow into brands. Based on gathering the companies’ brands, Dongguan can only become a city of brands by continuing promoting and safeguarding the brands through scientific and technological innovation. 

      Lots of ways are available in building product brands and magnify the value of brands. But the most reliable one is scientific and technological innovation, which helps establish and safeguard the brands. For instance, lesson is offered by the growth history of Apple.

What’s more, the continuous innovation in new products, new technologies and new functions play a vital part in maintaining its status as the first brand of smart phone.
