54 “Doubling Plan” Pilot Enterprises of Huangjiang Town See over 30% Growth in Economic Returns

     “The second phase construction of the industrial park is now in full swing and we will further accelerate the project.” said Liu Yunfei, Chairman of Dongguan Suoai Electronics Technology Co., Ltd.     R&D investment generates notable achievements

A group of statistics at the 2017 year-end performance review meeting of Dongguan Zhongyou Machinery Technology Co., Ltd. were rather stunning. The company’s revenue in 2017 reached over 50 million RMB, a year-on-year growth of more than 18 million RMB, a growth rate of 57.58%.

At present, Suoai Electronics boasts more than 20 utility model patents and over 40 design patents. The company has also made numerous breakthroughs in video game accessories for electronic sports. Moreover, Suoai Electronics has already carried out industry-university collaboration with Dongguan University of Technology as early as in the first half of 2016.
   “We will bolster innovative development and provide smart manufacturing this year.” Liu Yunfei told the journalist. Suoai Electronics will also embark on the development of intelligent home furnishing, which will be an important component in the company’s future development. The company has already established an R&D team with around a dozen researchers who have produced prominent results already.

    Innovation is the primary driving force for development.

The importance of innovation was deeply recognized by Zeng Baoguo, General Manager of Dongguan Longtuoxin Electronics Co., Ltd. Longtuoxin Electronics has established a well-equipped laboratory and set up an R&D center with a strong R&D team in 2015. The company has been continuously increasing its input in R&D. In October 2016, Longtuoxin Electronics decided to move its R&D center to Songshan Lake and actively formed industry-university collaboration with colleges and universities in accordance to its practical needs.
   Zeng Baoguo made it explicit that “no investment no achievement”. Owing to its constant investment in R&D, Longtuoxin Electronics now owns 1 invention patent, more than 10 utility model patents and over 20 design patents. Dongguan Kesheng Industry Co., Ltd. also gives much prominence to science and technology innovation. As early as in 2003, the company has established a large-scale production base in Huangjiang Town, specializing in manufacturing silicone rubber mechanical equipment. The company emerges as a high-tech enterprise combining product development, design, production, selling and after-sale services.     
 Inside the R&D engineering room at the second floor of Dongguan Kesheng Industry Co., Ltd., several engineers were analyzing and examining a new product, which was to be launched to the market. General Manager Zhang Jian was no stranger to such a scene, saying “we have been advocating the philosophy of valuing talent as fundamental, leading by science and technology, and putting customers first”.
   “The R&D investment accounts for over 5% of the revenue every year.” Zhang Jian told the journalist. Kesheng Industry brought in more high-end science and technology talents and stepped up its R&D investment even more after being elected as one of the “doubling plan” pilot enterprises. Currently, the company possesses 2 invention patents and 37 utility model patents. 
 In order to reduce its reliance on traditional materials, Dongguan Wahyik Packaging Products Co., Ltd. has made new product R&D its important direction. The company’s General Manager Huang Chaoxuan told the journalist that the most important thing is to step up new material R&D so as to find the substitutes for plastic and paper and gradually reduce reliance on them.
  Dongguan Hailutong Industry Co., Ltd. has been increasing R&D investment in an effort to launch more new products, new patents and new technologies. The total R&D expenditure in the past three fiscal years was no less than 3% of the total sales revenue. Invention patents take up nearly 5% of all the 100 and more patents it owns. In addition, it also established R&D laboratory in collaboration with Dongguan University of Technology. They are now preparing for building a national laboratory.
 In 2018, Dongguan Sheng Xiang Precision Metal Co., Ltd. is expected to apply for 60 patents. It has applied 10 up until now, among which 5 have been reviewed and the rest were under review. 

It was through constant increase in R&D investment that many “doubling plan” enterprises have obtained satisfying results and realized rapid growth in business revenue.

    Production expansion 

    Seek effectiveness from capacity expansion

“This year, one of our priorities lies in expanding capacity.” Yang Hui, Chairman of Dongguan C&T Telecom Technology Co., Ltd. made explicit his views in the interview. Except for the autonomous production line at the third floor, the second floor will also be used for autonomous production line. “The capacity in the future can be expected to double.”

 The revenue of C&T Telecom in 2016 was only around 20 million RMB. But the revenue of C&T Telecom has already reached over 32 million RMB by last November and the total revenue of last year was nearly 40 million RMB. Such achievement was related to its constant introduction of new production lines.
  Yang Hui told the journalist that though the company now has only 8 autonomous production lines, it is expected to add to 20 within this year. The company may increase the autonomous production lines to 50 based on its need. It strives to seek effectiveness through capacity expansion. C&T Telecom has poured over 8 million RMB in this aspect in last year. It will invest up to 10 million RMB this year to expand production further more.
  With the purpose of doubling the production this year, Dongguan Tian Hui Electronic Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is going to further integrate its internal resources. In so doing, it hopes to optimize and integrate its downstream electronic materials factory and its circuit factory. The company will also embark on building project factory, looking for breakthroughs from land resources and production capacity.

     Dongguan Enoch Vacuum Coating Co., Ltd. and Dongguan Suoai Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. are also among the companies that are building new factories. 

Enoch Vacuum Coating has been engaging in vacuum coating, optical coating, injection molding and mold processing for “3C” products. Its major clients include Apple, Huawei, Samsung and BBK. The company has also set up a 3D glass spray department.

Shi Enqi, Business Director of Dongguan Enoch Vacuum Coating Co., Ltd., told the journalist that the company is planning to invest more than 10 million RMB in building production lines for glass spray. The company also plans to build assembly production lines for electronic products. In the meantime, it will also build or expand factory buildings to strengthen its injection production capacity.
   “We will speed up the project to realize early operation.” said Liu Yunfei. Suoai Electronics launched the second phase of industrial park construction in last August in an attempt to expand production. The industrial park is estimated to be put into operation in September this year, which is expected to fuel the realization of the doubling goal.

Building new factory was high on the agenda in 2017 for Dongguan Meishifu Industry Co., Ltd. General Manager Chen Yunchong told the journalist that the old factory was relatively small, which led to the scattering of its molded workshop, hardware production workshop and warehouse. Such layout could hinder the company’s development. Meishifu therefore spent over 100 million RMB building a new factory.
   “We plan to build a three-story steel structure factory building.” according to a member from the management of Dongguan Sheng Xiang Precision Metal Co., Ltd. The first floor of the steel structure factory building is designated as molded room and LSR, the second floor as autonomous equipment R&D (R&D center) and the third floor as full inspection workshop and training room. The factory building will share the same height of that of the first and second phase. The estimated cost is 8.25 million RMB. Apart from building new factory building, increasing production lines has also become one of the measures adopted by most enterprises to realize doubling goal. 
  At the beginning of 2017, Dongguan Liyang Electrical Technology Co., Ltd. was elected as “doubling plan” pilot enterprise in Huangjiang Town, which has undoubtedly brought new development opportunity and vitality for the company. The company has made production efficiency improvement and production expansion top on its agenda. Liyang Electrical is going to add two new production lines to further expand its production.

Talent solicitation

Establish talent team to serve as a think tank

In 2016, the company spent more than 4 million RMB on R&D, accounting for 15% of its revenue. The R&D investment is expected to surpass 20% of its revenue this year.
 Owing to its R&D investment, Longtuoxin Electronics reached a revenue of 33 million RMB in 2017, a year-on year growth of 10% over 2016. 

Like Longtuoxin Electronics, the tangible benefits brought by talent were deeply felt by Guangdong Cathay Tat Ming Precision Metal Products Co., Ltd., Dongguan KBD Pulp Molding Packaged Products Co., Ltd., Dongguan Furukawa Tape Co., Ltd. and Dongguan Suoai Electronics Technology Co., Ltd.
  As early as in 2014, Guangdong Cathay Tat Ming Precision Metal Products Co., Ltd. had already come to realize school-enterprise cooperation with Guangdong Senior Technical School of Electronic Information. Cathay CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Class was established inside the school. The class produces 30 professional talents for the company every year. Cathay Tat Ming has also formulated a cultivation plan for these graduates, allowing them to grow into the backbone technicians for the company. 

 Cathay Tat Ming constantly enriches its talent team through school-enterprise cooperation and internal cultivation. Currently, the company boasts more than 100 engineering technicians, accounting for nearly 30% of the company’s entire staff. The company has made progress in talent team building to some extent.   “The revenue of last year increased by around 30% over the previous year.” said Xie Yibo, General Manager of Dongguan Furukawa Tape Co., Ltd. He admitted that the achievements were closely attributed to talent introduction. Furukawa Tape initiated campus recruitment plan last year. The first 15 graduates recruited under this program had already taken up their posts. They are from such universities as Harbin University of Science and Technology, Fujian Wuyi University and Jinggangshan University.
  Aside from introducing college graduates, Furukawa Tape also actively brought in Japanese technicians. Xie Yibo said that, given the specificity of tape industry, Furukawa Tape is going to bring in 2 or 3 Japanese experts to further enrich the company’s R&D team. Furukawa Tape R&D team now includes over 30 staff members, representing more than 15% of the company’s entire staff.

 Inside the laboratory of Dongguan KBD Pulp Molding Packaged Products Co., Ltd., engineer Mr. Wang was conducting drop test for the products. Beside him were several testing equipment that can be used for shock and vibration testing, pulp products beating degree testing, and dissociation degree testing.  
 In order to introduce high-quality talent, KBD has been widely disseminating “invitations for heroes” and succeed recruiting two senior engineers. It has also attracted talent in automation field. Up until now, KBD has 13 researchers, among whom 2 are senior engineers.
  In 2017, Dongguan Sheng Xiang Precision Metal Co., Ltd. has completed the construction of R&D laboratory center. 36 million RMB was spent in R&D laboratory center building, autonomous equipment development, and R&D equipment and instrument purchase. There are more researchers, with the total number reaching over 350. This year will see the expansion of the R&D center and the increase of researchers. The number of the researchers is expected to reach more than 600.
  Seize the market

Actively expand the market in and outside China 

“The sales target of 2.5 billion RMB was realized in 2017 in consideration of the orders in 2016 and the new orders.” A group of dazzling statistics emerged at the review meeting of Dongguan Sheng Xiang Precision Metal Co., Ltd. The actual revenue in 2017 reached 2.49015 billion RMB, an increase of 234.36% over 2016.

The sales of Dongguan Sheng Xiang Precision Metal Co., Ltd. in this year is thought to be even more promising. At present, it has more than 30 new projects from the existing clients and the orders will continue to grow. Its sales performance will further improve along with its expansion and consolidation of such overseas projects as LG, Sony and Gear, and the incorporation of projects from domestic clients such as Huawei, OPPO, VIVO and Xiaomi. Its sales performance will also grow continuously with business expansion in developing auto and aviation parts, and healthcare field.

In recent years, Dongguan Suoai Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. has made frequent presence in some large exhibitions such as Consumer Electronics Show (CES) of the US, Global Sources Electronics Show of Hong Kong, COMPUTEX of Taiwan and International Consumer Electronics Expo Indonesia (ICEEI), which helps it further expand overseas market.

Priminer boasts four factories around the world, focusing on the production and sales of precision machines such as machining centers and various vertical machining centers. Most of its clients are from Europe. According to statistics, the export of Priminer vertical machining centers to Europe and America is among the top in the industry in China.

In recent years, Priminer started to deploy its domestic market. Particularly after being elected as “doubling plan” pilot enterprise of Huangjiang Town in last January, the company’s sales business has yielded notable results and its domestic market grew rapidly.   
  Wan Junhong noted that Priminer will collaborate with counterparts from Germany, Japan and South Korea to introduce new technology, steadily improve product quality and gradually bridge the gap with products of European and American brands. Meanwhile, it will also expand domestic market and strive to make the market share of domestic market overtake that of overseas market, facilitating the doubling goal.    

At the beginning of last year, Dongguan Wahyik Packaging Products Co., Ltd. was elected as “doubling plan” pilot enterprise of Huangjiang Town, which has undoubtedly injected greater impetus for Wahyik Packaging. The measures launched by the company was welcomed by some renown companies, most of whom are from Europe and America. 

Apart from attending professional shows to grab market at home and abroad, Dongguan Longtuoxin Electronics Co., Ltd. also made tremendous efforts on e-commerce front. For instance, Longtuoxin Electronics sold over 30,000 headphones a day on Singles’ Day shopping festival.
   “Currently, Furukawa Tape’s business is mainly distributed in regions such as South China, Eastern China, Beijing and Tianjin.” said Xie Yibo, General Manager of Dongguan Furukawa Tape Co., Ltd. To further expand sales, the company set an office in the Western China at the end of last year.
